According to BERNAMA News Agency, tournament director Muhammad Asri Rafa'i stated that the prestigious event will keep its 24-team structure, consisting of 22 leading school rugby teams from Malaysia and two overseas teams that participated in the previous edition. "This year, we are maintaining our standard of selecting only the top teams, so the quality of the competition will remain high."

Highlighting the calibre of the competition, Muhammad Asri Rafa'i mentioned that Sekolah Menengah Presint 11 (1), which became champions in Putrajaya, will represent the Federal Territory for the first time in the tournament. This inclusion underscores the tournament's commitment to showcasing top-tier talent.

Former champions gracing the three-day event include Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Tiga, Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School (SSTMI) from Johor Bahru, and host side MCKK, bringing a mix of experienced contenders to the field.

Defending champions Pahang Malaysia Sports School (SSMP) will arrive in Kuala Kangsar with renewed confidence after clinching the 2025 title, having dethroned SSTMI, the previous champions, in the final.
