Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia International Craft Fair (MICF) 2026 is set to welcome 400 participants, including 300 local and 100 international artisans from over 20 countries. The event will be hosted at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex from September 24 to October 5.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kraftangan Malaysia announced that the fair aims to foster networking opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and open new market pathways for both local and international craft artisans. Six countries will present their unique craft demonstrations, featuring China with Jade Carving, New Zealand with Maori Carving, Uzbekistan with Jewellery Art, Sri Lanka with Beeralu Lace Work, Indonesia with Leather Art, and India with Tarkashi Brass Inlay. Malaysian craftsmanship will also be highlighted through demonstrations by ten local craft masters and entrepreneurs.

The event will include craft exhibitions, expressions, and explorations, in addition to the International Craft Talk, an International Fashion Showcase, cultural performances, and interactive activities. Strategic partners have organized a range of competitions and showcases such as traditional cooking demonstrations, Baju Kurung and Baju Kebaya design competitions, choir and creative Kompang art competitions, a treasure hunt, and the Malaysian Heritage Dance competition featuring Zapin and Caklempong. Additionally, there will be a Malaysian Heritage Singing competition, traditional and contemporary dance performances, a Ratu Kebaya pageant, a Silat Seni championship, and a Dikir Barat competition.

The MICF 2026 will be open to the public daily from 10 am to 10 pm throughout the 12-day duration. The pre-launch of the fair was officiated by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Chiew Choon Man at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.
