Bentong: The Pahang Road Transport Department (JPJ) inspected a total of 850 vehicles and issued 215 notices for various offences against drivers and vehicle owners during Ops Pengarah, which was conducted at the Bentong toll plaza on Dec 18. Its director, Syed Ahmad Khirulanwar Alyahya Syed Abdul Rahman, reported that among these, 115 JPJ (P) 22 summonses were issued, including the seizure of three private vehicles for various offences, some involving foreign drivers.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Syed Ahmad stated that the ongoing enforcement aims to ensure high compliance with road traffic regulations. The initiative also seeks to demonstrate JPJ's presence at various locations to boost road users' awareness and safety.

In addition, JPJ conducted Ops Khas Rentas Sempadan Zon Timur 2025 with the Terengganu and Kelantan JPJ at three locations, namely the Kuantan-Kemaman border, Lipis-Gua Musang, and Cameron Highlands-Lojing, from Dec 15 to 17. A total of 132 vehicles were inspected, and action was taken against 29 of them, resulting in 78 JPJ (P) 22 summons notices for various offences, including eight cases of overloading. A lorry was seized as it was driven by a foreign national without a driver's licence.

Syed Ahmad emphasized that the operation was focused on ensuring compliance with road traffic laws for both private and commercial vehicles, particularly those crossing the border into Pahang.
