Pahang: The Pahang government has announced an allocation exceeding RM5 million this year to enhance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as revealed by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. The allocation is aimed at bolstering infrastructure and training facilities for institutions such as Pahang Skills, TVET Pahang Talent Development, and the Pahang Rail Academy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Rosdy emphasized the proactive approach of the state government in cultivating talent in anticipation of future opportunities. The goal is to ensure that when investments flow in and industries expand, the youth of Pahang will be adequately prepared to seize the resulting job opportunities. He delivered these remarks during the 50th anniversary celebration of Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (POLISAS).

POLISAS, established in 1976, has produced 60,000 graduates and is expected to continue as a strategic partner in the development of the TVET ecosystem in Pahang. Wan Rosdy stressed the importance of strengthening ties with industries to ensure that classroom learning remains relevant and applicable in the workforce.

Additionally, Wan Rosdy expressed hopes for special consideration from the federal government in the upcoming Budget 2027, citing Pahang's vast size and the need for greater development allocations. He outlined priorities that extend beyond infrastructure to include education, economy, welfare, and healthcare, all aimed at directly benefiting the people.

In discussions about the state budget, Wan Rosdy mentioned potential allocations for various sectors, including education, welfare, infrastructure, and the promotion of Islam. He assured that any received funds would be redirected to the people and expressed optimism for a budget that improves upon previous ones, with details to be revealed during the State Legislative Assembly sitting in November.
