PERNAS Appoints Mohamed Rozhan as New Non-Executive Chairman

Kuala Lumpur: Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS) has announced the appointment of Datuk Mohamed Rozhan Mohd Ghazalli as the new independent non-executive chairman, effective from Tuesday, June 3.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PERNAS is confident that Mohamed Rozhan's appointment will strengthen the agency's strategic direction in supporting national entrepreneurship development, particularly in the franchise as well as small and medium enterprise (SME) sectors. Mohamed Rozhan is recognized as a corporate figure and experienced entrepreneur with a track record in banking, investment, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility sectors.

Mohamed Rozhan, who holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Ohio University in the United States, began his career at Citibank NA Kuala Lumpur in 1985, where he held various key positions, including vice-president and head of the Public Sector Division. He later joined BSN Merchant Bank as general manager and head of Credit Operations, Banking and Treasury from 1995 to 2000.

With over 24 years of entrepreneurial experience, Mohamed Rozhan has been involved in industries such as health and wellness, food, high-security document protection, as well as label and tag manufacturing and packaging. He also actively participates in business advisory services across sectors like transportation, telecommunications, information and digital technology, oil and gas, and real estate.

Mohamed Rozhan currently serves as the managing director of OVD Systems (M) Sdn Bhd and is involved in venture capital investments for start-up companies. He also contributes through his roles as an independent non-executive director at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn Bhd (MDEC) and as a Trustee of Yayasan Ansar Al-Hadith. His dedication to social responsibility is further evidenced by his previous position as chairman of the Board of Governors at Victoria Institution.
