PETRONAS Commemorates Its First LNG Cargo From LNG Canada Facility

Kuala lumpur: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) has achieved a major milestone with the successful departure of its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from the newly operational LNG Canada facility in Kitimat, British Columbia (B.C.), Canada. The shipment departed for Japan today aboard the 174,000-cbm Puteri Sejinjang LNG vessel, marking a significant milestone for PETRONAS' investment in Canada.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this event signifies PETRONAS' expanding footprint in the global LNG market, representing a new phase for its operations in North America. The LNG Canada facility, a joint venture that includes major industry players, aims to supply cleaner energy solutions to Asia, with Japan being one of the primary destinations for the exported LNG.

The successful shipment reflects PETRONAS' commitment to meeting the growing energy demands in Asia while contributing to the diversification of its LNG supply chain. The company underscores this achievement as a step forward in its strategy to deliver sustainable and efficient energy solutions worldwide.
