Kuala lumpur: The Prisons Department is currently investigating the authenticity and source of a viral closed-circuit television (CCTV) video circulating on social media. The video allegedly shows a remand detainee escaping from police custody within the Sungai Buloh Prison compound.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the department emphasized that maintaining the security of the correctional facility is of utmost importance. They assured that any identified weaknesses will be addressed promptly, and necessary actions will be taken against any individuals found negligent or in violation of regulations. They also urged the public to refrain from speculating or spreading unverified information that could hinder investigations and disrupt public order.
