Public Transport Services To Remain Unaffected By Opposition Rally, Confirms Loke

Kuala lumpur: All public transport services, including those operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, will continue to operate as usual tomorrow, despite a planned rally by the opposition in the capital. Transport Minister Anthony Loke emphasized the importance of keeping the city's public transport network running smoothly to ensure the majority of the public can carry out their weekend plans without disruption.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke encouraged rally participants to use public transport to help minimize traffic congestion. He also reminded commuters about the convenience of the MY50 Pass, which can now be renewed online via the Touch 'n Go app. Priced at RM150, the government subsidizes RM100, allowing users to pay only RM50.

For first-time visitors to Kuala Lumpur, there is an option to enjoy unlimited daily rides on various modes of transport, including the LRT, MRT, BRT, Monorail, and RapidBus, by using the MyCity Pass, available for RM6. Loke mentioned that this pass is set to be digitized by the end of the year.

In regard to the rally scheduled for tomorrow, Loke reiterated the MADANI Government's commitment to upholding the right to peaceful assembly, even for those with differing views. He stressed the importance of not returning to an era where democracy was suppressed, such as shutting down Parliament.
