Malacca: The Malaysian Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035 will help prepare the young generation for future challenges, said Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad. He noted that the blueprint identifies key challenges such as climate change, an ageing population, global citizenship, and emerging economic blocs that will require strategic educational leadership.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Azam emphasized the importance of principals and headmasters in anticipating these developments and leading their schools effectively based on the RPM 2026-2035. The blueprint mandates that students achieve at least a Grade C in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, and History to meet its educational targets.
Mohd Azam also highlighted the blueprint's role in safeguarding against the influx of external values in the digital age. He described it as a 'jihad' for teachers, tasked with shaping the youth's socio-emotional skills and moral values to align with local cultural norms. He stressed the need for educators to develop students' potential while reinforcing cultural and moral integrity amidst the growing exposure to external influences.
