Kuala terengganu: The Petroleum Gallery at the Terengganu State Museum, which has been upgraded to Ujana Tenaga PETRONAS (PETRONAS Energy Garden), chronicles the story of energy, PETRONAS' heritage, and technological advancement in a way that resonates with the public.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PETRONAS senior vice president (Project Delivery and Technology) Ir. Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof said the gallery is thoughtfully divided into four main zones: Asas (Foundation), Teras (Core), Cita (Aspiration), and Citra (Identity).
He said the Asas zone introduces the beginnings and foundational development that contributed to Terengganu's growth, while the Teras zone highlights the role of the energy sector in driving economic expansion.
"In addition, the Cita zone takes visitors through the importance of innovation, new technologies, and renewable energy towards a more sustainable future.
"Finally, the Citra zone underscores the long-term impact on education, the environment, and community development so that the benefits of progress can be felt by a wider audience," he said at the official opening of the Ujana Tenaga PETRONAS at the Terengganu State Museum here today.
The Regent of Terengganu, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, who graced the event, officially opened the gallery. The ceremony was also attended by Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
Mohd Yusri said the development of Ujana Tenaga PETRONAS included spatial design, exhibit installation, integration of multimedia, audiovisual, and interactive elements.
He said this was aimed at providing a more engaging and accessible experience for visitors from all walks of life and educational backgrounds.
"Terengganu holds a significant place in the history of the nation's energy industry. The state is not only crucial to energy operations but also contributes to the country's economic growth and industrial progress.
"Therefore, it is highly fitting that this energy journey is celebrated at the Terengganu State Museum, which serves as a repository for heritage preservation, recording history, and connecting today's generation with the values and experiences of the past," he said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Samsuri said the initiative would benefit and inspire all levels of society in understanding the importance of sustainable resource management.
He hoped that the more interactive approach would expand the museum's role into a dynamic learning centre that bridges history, science, technology, and innovation.
