Shah alam: The Selangor government's artificial intelligence (AI) White Paper, which is currently being developed, will outline the overall landscape for the use of the technology, including its challenges, benefits, and value proposition. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that this initiative marks the first policy on AI to be crafted by the state government.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the implementation of the AI White Paper will occur in three phases: research and benchmarking, the drafting process, and the creation of a Digital Government Playbook. Amirudin emphasized that the document is designed to provide guidelines and ethical principles, facilitating a deeper understanding of AI's challenges and benefits before it is adopted more broadly across the region.

Amirudin stated, "The AI White Paper will serve as a guideline for us, particularly in Selangor, on how we should approach, live with, and interact with AI." This statement was made in response to an inquiry from Dr. Quah Perng Fei (PH-Bandar Baru Klang) regarding the development of the AI landscape in Selangor during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly meeting today.

Additionally, Amirudin noted that the AI White Paper would be presented at the State Legislative Assembly for debate at a future date, underscoring its significance to the state's technological and policy advancements.
