Seri Iskandar Incident: Victim Cried For Help Twice Before Being Fully Buried, Says Colleague

Seri iskandar: A contract worker tragically lost his life in a fatal incident at Kampung Teluk Kepayang, Bota Kiri, as the site collapsed during an excavation and pipe installation task. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Raja Daniel Iskandar Raja Teh Suhaimi, was pronounced dead at the scene after being buried at a river sand collection area.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a colleague of the deceased, who requested anonymity, recounted that the soil collapsed twice within a minute. Despite hearing Raja Daniel Iskandar cry for help twice, his colleagues were unable to save him before he was fully buried. The anonymous worker, along with two others, managed to escape after being buried up to their chests, describing the ordeal as traumatic.

The colleague further shared that Raja Daniel Iskandar had expressed a desire to visit Perak days prior to the incident. The pipe installation project was nearing completion, and the team expected to return to Terengganu once finished. The victim had been employed by the company since 2019.

Wan Fauzi Wan Ahmad, the victim's uncle, stated that his nephew will be interred at Kampung Makam Lama Muslim Cemetery in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, following the completion of an autopsy at Seri Iskandar Hospital. Raja Daniel Iskandar leaves behind a wife and twin infants.

In related developments, Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah, acting assistant director of operations at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, confirmed that three other men were rescued from the site. These individuals, aged between 28 and 38, were buried up to their chests during the 5 pm incident and sustained injuries. The rescue operation concluded with the recovery of Raja Daniel Iskandar's body at 7.59 pm, which was then transported to Seri Iskandar Hospital for further examination.
