TH Introduces 24-Hour Free Shuttle Bus Service for Malaysian Pilgrims Heading to Masjidil Haram

Makkah: The Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has launched a 24-hour free shuttle bus service for Malaysian pilgrims, marking the first time such a service is being provided. The shuttle will transport pilgrims from their accommodation to the Masjidil Haram, significantly reducing travel time.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysian Head of Haj Delegation Mohd Hisham Harun announced that eight buses have been designated for Malaysian pilgrims. This initiative aims to enhance the agency's comprehensive services. The shuttle route will run from the Abraj Al Tayseer Hotel to the Jarwal Bus Station, conveniently located near the Masjidil Haram.

Mohd Hisham highlighted the efficiency of the shuttle service, noting that it reduces travel time from a 30-minute walk to approximately five to 15 minutes. He expressed that this service provides pilgrims with an easier and more accessible means to reach the mosque, allowing them to devote more time to worship.

The bus service will be operational until 2 Zulhijjah (May 19), after which main roads will be closed in preparation for the Masyair operations. Mohd Hisham mentioned that this initiative is expected to help maintain the health of pilgrims, especially as the Haj season peaks and temperatures rise.

For the 1447H/2026M Haj season, TH has arranged five accommodation buildings in Makkah to house 31,600 pilgrims. These accommodations include Abraj Al Tayseer, Rehab Al Janadriyah, Al Kiswah Tower Hotel, Abraj Al Janadriyah, and Qasr Al Janadriyah.
