Kuala Lumpur: The Transport Ministry has announced its full support for Ocean Infinity's initiative to deploy ships in the Indian Ocean as part of the renewed search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook described the development as encouraging for the next of kin, who have been waiting for progress in search operations. Loke confirmed that Ocean Infinity has already started mobilizing their ships, and the government has provided principal approval for the search to resume. He mentioned that the contract is in the final stages of completion, having recently received clearance from the Attorney General's Chambers.
Loke explained that Ocean Infinity's decision to continue the search is based on substantial research and data corroborated by multiple experts. The company believes the current search area holds promise due to its previous coverage and the possibility of it being overlooked in earlier searches. This confidence has prompted the Malaysian government to proceed with the search, with the hope of bringing closure to the families affected and shedding light on the aviation mystery.
Loke also noted that the search operation would be conducted within a set timeframe, as outlined in the forthcoming contract. The search for MH370 has been ongoing since the aircraft vanished on March 8, 2014, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 individuals on board, deviating from its designated flight path as per radar and satellite data.
