US-Israel War On Iran Sparks Special Prayers Across Pahang

Pahang: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has called for all mosques and suraus in the state to conduct "solat hajat" (special prayers) for the safety of Islamic nations, with a particular focus on those in the Middle East.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pahang Mufti Prof Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohamed Naim stated that the Sultan's directive also includes prayers seeking Allah SWT's protection for Malaysians in the affected regions, guarding them against any form of disaster, calamity, or threat. The special prayers are scheduled to be performed today, March 1, 2026, after the Isyak prayer and before the Tarawih prayer.

The call for prayers follows recent media reports that Malaysia has strongly condemned the attack on Iran, which has led to counterattacks involving several Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, and Qatar on February 28. In a statement released on Saturday, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the attacks contravene the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the prohibition against the use of force stipulated under the United Nations Charter and international law.
