Shah alam: A total of 52,750 Rumah Selangorku (RSKU) units involving 167 projects have been completed and handed over to buyers as of mid-2026, the Selangor State Legislative Assembly was informed today. State Housing and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah revealed that an additional 34,287 RSKU units involving 68 projects were under construction during the same period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the achievement highlighted the positive progress in the implementation of affordable housing in the state, aligning with the targets set by the state government. Datuk Borhan Aman Shah stated that to facilitate the provision of more affordable homes priced below RM250,000, the state government has enacted the RSKU 3.0 Policy, which determines the composition of RSKU provision based on development zones and areas.

Furthermore, the state government has introduced several incentives for developers, such as a 100 percent exemption from development charges. Initiatives like the RSKU Harapan Policy and Rumah Idaman MBI Selangor have been implemented to encourage the availability of more affordable homes.

Responding to Yew Jia Haur (PH-Teratai) on the current status of RSKU construction and handover as of mid-2026, Borhan explained that intervention measures have been put in place by the state government, through the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), to manage projects experiencing delays or classified as sick projects. These measures encompass monitoring, enforcement, and administrative actions to ensure projects are revived and completed as planned.

The state government remains firm against developers who fail to adhere to project schedules, taking actions such as issuing compliance notices, implementing recovery plans, and imposing stop-work orders. Additional measures include imposing restrictions on new development applications and setting extra conditions for project approvals.
