Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives opened higher on Wednesday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.30 am, the August 2026 contract increased by six points to 1,745.0. Similarly, the September 2026 contract rose by 6.5 points to 1,727.0. The December 2026 contract added seven points to reach 1,727.5, while the March 2027 contract went up by 5.5 points to 1,708.5.
Turnover for these contracts was recorded at 24,001, with open interest totaling 67,189 contracts. This indicates a robust level of trading activity and interest in the market.
At 9.50 am, the FBM KLCI itself climbed by 6.62 points, reaching 1,742.95 from Monday's close of 1,736.33. It is noteworthy that the market was closed on Tuesday in observance of Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
