Kuala lumpur: GreenRE Sdn Bhd and Qube Integrated Malaysia have entered into a strategic partnership to co-organize the International Sustainability Week (ISW) 2026, set to take place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre from September 10 to 11.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the agreement was signed today by GreenRE chairman Datuk Seri FD Iskandar and Qube Executive Chairman Richard Teo. It positions ISW 2026 as a flagship national platform with significant regional impact, under the theme 'From Certification to Transformation: Building a Net Zero Future Together'.
In an official statement, Qube emphasized its commitment to advancing sustainability in the built environment and promoting cross-market collaboration. The event will focus on practical implementation, performance measurement, and industry readiness, supported by recognized standards and certifications.
'ISW 2026 is designed for stakeholders directly involved in the planning, design, construction, and operation of the built environment, including policymakers, developers, builders, architects, engineers, planners, solution providers, and city authorities,' the statement elaborated.
The event will feature speakers, participants, and exhibitors from Malaysia, regional, and international markets, addressing common challenges in sustainable urban development. It will include two integrated components: the International Green Build Conference (IGBC) and GreenScape: International Green Innovation Exhibition.
The statement further noted that IGBC and GreenScape aim to bridge conference discussions with practical applications, fostering industry engagement, partnership building, and project development, while supporting cross-border collaboration towards a net-zero future.
FD Iskandar, speaking at the signing ceremony, highlighted the importance of measurable outcomes in sustainability that can be benchmarked, verified, and replicated at scale. He stated that ISW 2026 will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and accelerating investable results for the built environment.
'As Malaysia's leading green building certification body, GreenRE is proud to co-organize ISW 2026,' he said, mentioning that the event targets around 1,000 conference attendees.
FD Iskandar also pointed out that ISW will bring together policymakers, developers, financiers, and technology leaders to create a robust forum where standards, innovation, and capital converge, transforming sustainability commitments into actionable projects that yield long-term value and regional impact.
Richard Teo added that while there is strong commitment to sustainability from both government and industry, the main challenge remains in its delivery.
'International Sustainability Week is designed to bring the right people together to focus on how sustainability is implemented in practice - in buildings, developments, and cities. As organizer, Qube's role is to curate and deliver a structured platform that supports this shift from discussion to action,' Teo stated.
He also mentioned that Qube is targeting between 5,000 and 10,000 exhibition visitors, including approximately 150 companies.
