Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has so far found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing involving corruption or misappropriation in its investigation into the Retirement Fund Incorporated's (KWAP) RM163.4 million investment in Indonesian aquaculture firm eFishery.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman stated that the full findings would only be available after investigators obtained financial information and documents from overseas banks, including those in Singapore and Indonesia.

To date, 19 individuals have been called to assist in the investigation and have had their statements recorded. They include officers from KWAP, the Finance Ministry, and Khazanah. No arrests have been made as investigators have not found it necessary to do so at this stage. However, the investigation is still ongoing.

Abd Halim mentioned that investigators were also working to obtain statements from identified witnesses who were currently overseas. The domestic investigation is almost complete, and the focus is now on obtaining Mutual Legal Assistance from several countries. While there should be no issue with the process, it may take some time as certain legal procedures must be followed.
