Kuala lumpur: The monthly Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid has been credited into the MyKad accounts of eligible recipients starting today. The Finance Ministry (MOF) announced that the amount for recipients under the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) category is RM100 for each household, while senior citizens and single individuals will receive RM50.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, for recipients under both the STR and eKasih categories, the assistance credited is RM200 for households, RM150 for senior citizens, and RM100 for single individuals. This structured aid aims to provide targeted support to different demographics, ensuring that financial assistance reaches those who need it most.
The official website, sara.gov.my, states that SARA 2026 recipients will automatically receive cashless assistance for basic necessities through an account opened using the recipient's MyKad. This initiative allows eligible individuals to purchase basic grocery items from approved product categories at selected supermarkets or retail shops nationwide using their MyKad, streamlining the aid distribution process.
SARA is a targeted assistance programme designed to support Malaysians most affected by the rising cost of living. It is part of the government's broader strategy under Budget 2026 to improve the economic standing of vulnerable groups, ensuring they have access to essential goods and services.
