Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on the public to allow authorities to handle the investigation into a recent religious provocation incident. He expressed confidence that the investigation would be conducted transparently and that the truth would emerge.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the commitment of the MADANI government to uphold justice and maintain national peace. In a Facebook post, Anwar reassured the public of the government's dedication to uncovering the truth fully through the ongoing investigation.
Anwar also addressed previous accusations suggesting government inaction regarding an incident involving the desecration of the Quran. He labeled these accusations as unfounded and reiterated that the authorities are thoroughly investigating the matter in compliance with existing laws.
In connection to the case, a student from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) was detained on February 25 to assist with the investigation concerning alleged insults to Islam on social media. As of yesterday, authorities had received 28 police reports from across the nation related to the incident.
