Selangor: The Selangor state government has announced plans to develop an integrated 'super app' aimed at consolidating the services and complaint channels of the state's 12 local authorities (PBT), as stated by Datuk Ng Suee Lim, the State Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative is designed to streamline and simplify public interactions by allowing access to a variety of PBT services through a single, unified platform. Datuk Ng highlighted the need for such an application in response to feedback from users who expressed confusion over the multitude of existing apps available for different services. He assured that the new approach would be iteratively improved to meet public needs effectively.
Ng also emphasized the importance of data security and confidentiality, affirming that user data would be protected from unauthorized access or misuse. The development and operation of the application will involve a rigorous vendor selection process to ensure only providers with proven capabilities and strong track records are engaged.
Furthermore, Ng confirmed that traditional PBT counter services would continue to operate, providing necessary assistance to those who may not be as digitally adept, such as senior citizens and rural inhabitants. This measure ensures inclusivity and accessibility for all segments of the population.
