Sarawak: The number of areas in Sarawak experiencing unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings due to transboundary haze rose to 11 this morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) reported that the affected areas include Serian with an API of 189, followed by Samarahan at 170, Kuching at 166, Bintulu at 159, Samalaju at 156, Mukah and Sibu both at 154, Sarikei at 153, Sri Aman at 152, Miri at 137, and the Miri Industrial Training Institute (ILP) at 116.
An API reading from zero to 50 is considered good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and readings above 300 are classified as hazardous. The API data is updated hourly based on readings from 68 air quality monitoring stations across the nation.
